Why Sacking of Gov. Yusuf Makes Tinubu’s Re-election Certain – Reno Omokri

Former aide to ex president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has stated reasons why the sacking of Kano State Governor, Mr. Abba Kabir Yusuf by the Court of Appeal means a re-election for President Bola Tinubu come 2027.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja led by Justice Moore A. Adumein on Friday (today) cancelled the election of Governor Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) – and upheld the appeal of Nasir Yusuf Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the appellate court, Governor Yusuf was not eligible to contest in the gubernatorial election that was conducted in the state on March 18.

Meanwhile, Omokri has disclosed that the sacking of Yusuf will play a pivotal role in President Tinubu’s re-election.

Omokri posted on his X account: “The sacking of Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano by the Court of Appeals has made Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 more certain.”

He said the certainty is as a result of Kano State producing the highest registered voters during elections in Nigeria.

His words while giving his reasons: “Because Kano has the highest registered voters of any state and will give at least two million votes to Presidential candidates in 2027. Sadly, whoever is Governor tends to direct where those votes go.”

He also advised the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Labour Party (LP) to join forces with the Peoples Democratic Party as proposed by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

“If the NNPP and Labour Party know what is good for them, they should merge with the PDP as Waziri Atiku suggested. Because if they do not merge, then Tinubu will re-emerge. It is just common sense. Although common sense is not so common in Nigerian politics.”
